Between November 27th and 29th, 2022, the 15th Annual Meeting of the Chinese Neuroscience Society was successfully held online. Phoenix Peng, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of NeuroXess, signed a donation agreement with the Chinese Neuroscience Society (CNS), setting up CNS-NeuroXess Young Scientist Award and special-purpose funds. Those awards aim to cultivate youth talents in neuroscience, to reward young scientists with outstanding contributions, and to fund activities related to the development of neuroscience, such as academic communication, science popularization activities, and social services.
CNS is an institution that has the largest scale and highest academic level in China, concentrating on the exploration and application of cutting-edge technologies in brain science. Since 2014, CNS has been committed to cooperating with relevant fields and enterprises to raise funds to carry out activities such as community service, science popularization education that benefit the public, and academic communication and continuing education in the field of brain science. Now, the CNS-NeuroXess Young Scientist Award provides another financial support for young talents in the field of brain science. Cultivating leading innovative talents in brain science demonstrates NeuroXess’ core philosophy – attaching great importance to talent cultivation and simultaneously achieving the benefits of cutting-edge research and realization of commercial value.
Mr. Phoenix Peng introduced the details of the financial support provided by NeuroXess at the conference. First, CNS-NeuroXess Young Scientist Award is set up to commend scientific workers who have made outstanding contributions to the field of neuroscience and promoted the development of neuroscience in the past five years. Second, special-purpose funds are established to support young neuroscientists’ training and reward young technological workers with outstanding achievements. Those awards fund academic communication, science popularization, community services, and other activities in the field of brain science, helping advance scientists’ understanding of brain-computer interface, and thus boosting China’s brain science research.
According to Mr. Phoenix Peng, brain science is one of the basic scientific problems faced by human society, and is a field needed to be explored in depth for human understanding of nature and human beings themselves. BCI technology plays an important role in the field of science and technology innovation. It is the fundamental instrument of brain science that scientists must employ to effectively explore cutting-edge knowledge, actively respond to China’s Brain Project, and guarantee human well-being. BCI is a start-up industry. As an explorer in the invasive BCI field, NeuroXess will commit itself to academic communication and talent training in the field of brain science, boosting the development of brain science and neuroscience in China.
